it's official.. nobody else out there wants a Tip (especially NOT one set up nicely for autocross or track DEs)... oh well... more fun for me

how wierd is it that I'm not heartbroken that no one has jumped at buying my beloved 993?

I know your post is really about your car, but any luck with the interviews?

unfortunately NOT

I've gotten one of 2 responses (sometimes ZERO response)...

1 canned response is that the position is below me and that I'd be bored silly because of being overqualified.

Other response is the typical rejection of 'we are persuing more qualified candidates'

...after pushing one guy on a follow up phone call I placed, I learned someone was already hired the day before I inverviewed *so why they continued to interview me is beyond my comprehension...

I guess I should start to get worried when I don't get any new interviews...

But thanks for asking.

Sadly, I even tried to apply for a part time (4 hours a day) position at FedEx (they give full time health benefits for part time people) and even there I got rejected (as a driver for express)... no prior delivery experience and I guess I flunked their interview somehow.... go figure... I couldn't even get an $11 an hour part time job because of ZERO past experience in any aspect of the industry (other than being a shipper) .. go figure...

thanks.. I hope so... I'm looking every day at job postings on various sites.. I guess I'll start worring once I no longer get any interviews and/or don't see new job postings.

BTW: it seems so many people get a CEL due to dredded secondary air injection system clog issue with OBDII but my 993 has NEVER EVER had this problem.... I get the feeling my 20 minute DE sessions helped to prevent this issue

Ceboyd, I hope it all sorts out, could you mention some secrets of tiptronic and autocross, do you always manually shift, can you get this thing to downshift coming out of a hard turn, etc. I went to my first autox in a 996 tip and the instructor got in the car with me and said "what is going on here, oh a tiptronic" I kinda felt that I was in the wrong place. Maybe with everything going on at once, I just wasnt shifting it right.

Unless this is real long course, whey the need to get out of second?

You're not in the wrong place, the tips are real fast at ax..even ax instructors admitted it..

yes indeed.. why else would my Tip get FTD and 1st place overall for the season against all the stick shifts at our local milwaukee region (3 or 4 years ago)

Eric and I shared my Tip at autocross when we were heavily into autocross because eric noticed how the Tip had an advantage..

...for autocross, the key is ONLY downshifting as the Tip forces an upshift when getting close to redline and autocross never needs more than 2nd in Tip mode IMHO so I would constantly downshift if it went up to 3rd and downshift to 1st when needed for those slower hairpin turns... (make sense?)

btw everyone..

I've come to the realization that I'd much rather sell the car AS-IS with all the goodies then to go through the painful process of parting it back to stock..

I know that is probably silliness but it's just how I fell (maybe 'cause it's quicker to just have the whole car go away as is instead of feeling like as it goes back to stock in november)

....Did I mention that I just passed Illinois smog test without any issues just this monday?

So bump and happy Memorial weekend everyone!

custom made 1-of-a-kind RACE rotors...

no worries, I'll supply regular factory stock TT rotors instead to whoever buys the car instead
