POC Poster for The Tribute to Le Mans....
May 20 is the day of the Tribute race and party under the big tent. This a fundraising event for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation via The Hope For A Cure Foundation. I hope to see many of the local Rennlisters there enjoying the race and festivities. The 4-hour Tribute race and the 2-hour Fubar race start at 3:30 Sat. afternoon....

FUBAR, what's a FUBAR
(F'd Up Beyond All Recognition)Just to save John a little band width, it is a Team Race...pairing two cars. Each car runs for an hour, BUT, there is a handicap system based on the classes of the cars.
As an example a somewhat lightly modifed 993 goes out and runs for an hour. He/she pulls into the pits. If he/she is paired with a GT3 Cup car, the Cup Car will have to take a time handicap before he/she can take off, possibly up to nine minutes or so.
That is all I know...period. There may be more details up on the Porsche Owners Club web site: Porsche Owners Club

I forgot to mention that during the lunchbreak each day, you can drive your car on the track for $ 20. Last year was a blast with many cars, including SUV's, breaking into triple digits through NASCAR turns 1 & 2 with their 14 degree banking across 75 ft. of track. I wish that experience on everyone.....
