I'm hunting down info on a car with no records but Carfax shows it having resided in Long Island (Garden City?), the Annapolis area, and is for sale in St. Louis. Can anyone provide recommendations for mechanics in each/any of these places so I can piece together the car's history and have a place for a PPI if I choose to go ahead and purchase the vehicle in question?

There are several shops in Long Island, most of them being in Huntington, which is about 20 min. away from Garden City. I use Taso from TKX Performance and he is very good. Really can't go wrong there. There are several other shops in that area, but I do not have any experience with them. There is Autosport, Lynmor, and others.

 

Real close to Garden City is SM--run by a guy named Sonny-- and a bunch of others. try going to the Metro region web page to find some phone numbers for their advertisers.
In annapolis, I had a ppi done at Tif's--run by a guy named tif.

You are looking for records, not a mechanic recommendation (for the NY and Annapolis areas), right?

 

In St. Louis, Reid-Vann is very popular and well respected.
