Spoiler Smoooooth!!
Well finally did the bearing replace on my blender...ah I mean spoiler! Sheesh what a cheapo bearing Porsche used!! Shame on them! Mine was almost completely rusted! (no pics just too ugly to believe).
Anyway the new bearing is stainless double sheilded, abec3 and sealed/lubed for life!
And man is it quite now. I can just barley hear a nice whirring sound as it retracts. Thanks again to Robin(P-Car.com) and Rennlist for all the DIY stuff!

I went with BOCA bearings (ordered online) and selected a double shielded, ABEC 3, sealed, greased, stainless one. I have the part number at home if you want I can send it to you. It cost me around $13.00 and is of MUCH better quality and design than the original open face type. It is If I remember 16mm OD 5mm ID and 5mm wide. In Europe you can most likely order one from an SKF dist.
Hi --
Just replaced mine. What a difference. First disassembled and tried to clean/lube bearing, but still made bad noises.
Ordered a couple of sealed, ceramic bearing from boca, got them in 3 days.
Also noticed when tinkering that the contact switch for the down position was not making contact with the adjusting screw (there are up and down swithes, and adjustments for each for fine tuning).
So I added a washer in the main pivot to keep things better aligned when moving, and now the screw hits the lever on the switch.
Quite a bit of engineering going on under that @%#$ spoiler!
Anyway, ditto on the thanks to pcar.com and rennlist for the DIY.
Another fun project!

Actually it was not as easy at it sounds. My gearbox (for the spoiler) case did not want to come apart. Took a lot of patience and a sharp x-acto knife to convince it. Also, I had a heck of a time getting the old rusted bearing off its shaft. Finally had to break it in half to get the darn thing off. Even then it left the center bearing race on the shaft! Also my cable connector was very tough to remove. In the end I was able to get it appart and now it's awesome. I really don't hear it at all unless I try. And be careful with the Nylon Ring I dropped mine in the black hole we call an engine and had to buy a new one from Pelican Parts!!
