Default Moving seat rail back to rear holes.

I am hoping to gain some additional headroom and legroom by moving the drivers seat/seat rail back to the rear holes. Do i need any additional parts (bolts, washers, etc) to perform this task, or can I just use all of the existing parts? If anyone who has done the swap could provide some insight, I would appreciate it.

Thanks.

It is a simple job Steve. No other parts needed. With that said though, make sure you have a good 6mm allen. The heads strip VERY easy. I generally use a Snap On 6mm allen socket. The front ones have a bit of a clearance issue. Just make sure you raise the seat all the way. Did I mention be careful as the bolts strip??? Good luck..

Thanks Bob. Do I need to remove the seat from the car, or can the seat just be lifted in place and moved to the new position?

You can just unbolt it and slide it back and then bolt it up. No need to undo the electrics or the seat belt.

Very easy and rewarding mod. However, many of use who have done this (search prior post) could not get one on the bolts in. Mine was the back right one.

I did this recently on my 993 and it was easy to do. What surprised me is that even with the seat moved back there is still less room than my old 964 on the passenger side . That was a surprise as I didn't think Porsche had made the 993 smaller! Perhaps the foot well is much closer for some reason. Anybody know?
