CD Changer Vertical Installation
I have a vertically mounted Alpine CHM 5601 CD changer that I'm not happy with. It skips more than other changers I've had and has a high frequency background noise that I think is a bad ground connection or poor shield. I can check that when I try to fix the skipping problem.
I recall reading somewhere (couldn't find it in a search) that there is switch that has to be set based on whether the changer is mounted horozontally or vertically. Is anyone familiar with the switch, in particular where it's located? What are the symptoms of the switch being in the wrong position? Hopefully you'll say skipping is one of the symptoms.

I do know that some changers have a adjustable shock mount that is used to correct for vertical/horizontal. You could pull your changer out of its shell and look. Or ask the manufacturer.
