My 'cuda was actually not a bad handler when I got it (it was quite a good handling car when I finished with it :-) ), but the car I really learned to *drive* was my '85 RX-7 GSL-SE. Plus it was fun enough that my boss and I would trade cars to run his '77 911S down to his mechanic, so I got seat time in the car I'd known I needed since I was 12...

A 1974 Ford Capri - when they were built in Germany. A hand-me-down from my dad. With that monster hi-tech 2.8 OHV Ford V6, I did a blazing 0-60 in just over 10 seconds!

1972 911T.

1977 and I was living in Albuquerque, NM at the time. I bought it, stripped it bare and repainted it continental ice blue. Drove it for a year and then sold it for a brand new BMW 320i. Silly me...

1986 Toyota MR-2, had several Celica GTS and Supra prior. But I didn't consider them a real sports car. In my opinion at the time the MR-2 was a real sports car.

I really regret selling that car, that was a fun little car that provided many years of reliable service and excitement.

Not sure it's a sports car, but my first car was a '67 Mustang convertible, with a 289 engine. It was dark blue with a white top and two-toned blue interior. Not the fastest car, but man, do I miss it sometimes.

I too started with the good ole Capri's, 72 with a built V6. However my first "sports" car was a Signal Green 72 911T.

Here's mine; a '57 Austin Healy 100-4. It was only 10 years old, just like my 993 is now.

Besides several muscle cars of the GM brand, my first kinda sports car was a 1985 Corvette. I say first sports car as this was the first car I owned with independant rear suspension
