Eric, What brand is your aftermarket tail? Did it need much work? Or was it pretty smooth.

Scott- I bought it from another R'lister who had already installed it, so installation was a breeze. I'm not sure who made it, but I would definitely suggest buying an aftermarket RS spoiler. I'm not as satisfied with my MA Shaw fiberglass front splitters however, but they still turned out ok.

Thanks for the info "E". I'm starting to hear more negative things about the high-end aftermarket product companies and their parts. I was hoping to go with the RS tail in possibly Carbon Fiber. But it really depends on if the finish is perfect. I guess I need to call them to see what kind of return policy they have if I'm not satisfied.

While I need to search for original -stock- images, but starting with an early one. Sorry, its the only early picture I can locate at the moment. Funny enough, this image was just after I passed a 996TT.... Anyhow, here are a few of the latest money-pit additions...

Eric, Chris - is that the same tail but for the colored grill on both cars? Really like the look of it vs the turbo tail, lot cleaner. Assume need splitters to balance downforce? Nice job on both cars. Chris - is the spotting on your windshield from the owner of that TT as you went by him and scared the **** out of him?

Unless Chris has a factory part, they're the same tail. I simply had my painters paint the grill. Yes, front splitters will balance out the lift (you don't get downforce until you get to the Clubsport setup), but I really think it's just an aesthetic issue for street driving. For track driving there's more merit to the lift-balancing argument. Here's another of my ride:

tx eric, agree with the stmt on street driving, but i did notice an unusual balance when i put on turbo tail and a gforce front bumper. just felt loose or something. put on factory bumper for c4s and took turbo tail off and car is smooth at speed. probably due to unusual bumper, i don't know but am more aware of modding and what it does to handling. love your avatar, just cracks me up.

No, just of his leaking RMS Actually its from the winshield tear-offs that I was developing for a local optics company who supplies these to NASCAR teams. 4 plies was what I was using. NASCAR teams use 7...

In all fairness, the 996TT was KILLING me on the straights, but I had a great advantage in the corners. We had a few great sessions that day!! A lot of fun truth be known..
