Saint Louis, MO HID help needed
My HID lights from the group buy arrived today. I've religiously read all of the instructions and hints posted by all of the extremely helpful fellow Rennlisters. However, when I go out to the garage, I get really nervous about touching my car. To be honest, I’ve never been anything of a mechanic. Sure, I helped my dad change the oil in the car when I was growing up, but that’s been it. I recognize that there may be many who will post with the “it’s easy, don’t worry” comment, but I have no confidence in my ability to get this job done, especially without taking far longer (days? weeks?), and potentially breaking some small piece that will be costly to replace, than I would with some help.
All of that said, I would sincerely appreciate any St. Louis area Rennlister (especially one who had already done this HID conversion) who would be willing to meet and help me do this first upgrade.

My wheels were refinished in San Diego where I bought the car and I was charged exactly that.
When a pothole on HWY 55 ate one of my rims and tire on my Audi, the cost in St. Louis was $125 to refinish that wheel.

$125 is a fair price for wheel work. I've had it done on two of my 993 wheels. Figure it costs $30 to have a nail hole patched in a tire at a gas station, which requires R&Ring the tire. Then figure refinishing involves that plus painting, sanding and straightening. So another $95 for all that is very fair.

Rick,
Who does the wheel work in metro DC area? Do you have any experience with Mobile Wheel Refinishers out of Annapolis? They are quoting $135 per wheel including pick up and delivery. I need to get the curb rash fixed on one of my 17" cup wheels.

I've only dealt with Wheel Doctor in Gaithersburg and he's excellent - a miracle worker. I bent a wheel so bad, it looked like a Slinky toy and he made it perfect.
