If you dont mind making a small roadtrip up to Sacramento, Car Audio Innovations is very reputable.

Second the recommendation for Car Audio Innovations, but if don't want to drive out to Roseville, try Soundwave in San Carlos. Avoid Pacific Stereo in Redwood City like the plague.

Ask for Adam
I recently needed to install a stereo, after searching around he's the best.
Very knowledgable, super helpful and could not be happier with the result.

Burning Brakes
Adam at Finish Line
Absolutely best guy in Bay Area is Adam at Finish Line. He installed new amp/speakers/head unit in different cars for me, and installed the following:
1. Push button solenoid hood release in front turbo duct (tied to immobilizer)
2. Immobilizer controlled lock on my RSD
3. Steering wheel controls of radio using Tip SW
4. Seat warmers on HBS
5. Push button ignition (tied to immobilizer)
6. 4th brake lights in rear fog slots
7. Garage/gate openers in unused center console switch and high beam
8. Usual USB/iPod controls in glove box and Bird arm rest and rear fog light slot
9. Turbo tach and OBC and fourth steering stalk control for OBC in a manual shift non-trubo
... and others I have forgotten; AND Finish Line is hands down the best upholstery shop in the Bay Area.
Oh yeah, Adam started career doing stereo and here are admittedly crappy pix of several of his efforts:
Head unit and switch::

Push button ignition:
Hood release button (disabled when car is locked):

I'll second that .... Simplicity In Sound .. a tier one shop
Seems,, there are a few Tier One automotive electronic shop's in Northern CA, Talented artistry coupled with technical chop's is rare, really rare. The Finish Line work is uber impressive, dam! Bring money.
PS. Take notice in the above Finish Line Interiors work pictures, the Porsche font detail is on what is otherwise a JVC flat face head unit. Nice detail. www.finishlineinteriors.com
There is Huge project pictorial on the Simplicity web site. Plenty of ideas for the DIY'r.
