Default OT: What would you do with $30K

If you had $30K to play around with, what would you do to your 993? I am currently contemplating my options, but wanted to hear other suggestions. Here is my top 5:

1. Upgrade to TRG sways and 18' wheels
2. Add a supercharger or Turbo
3. re-gear
4. replace it with a 993 turbo or 996 turbo w/x51
5. replace it with a 996 GT3.

What would you do???

PS. sorry if this question has been thrown around before. I didn't have time to search the archives.

Cheers.

I'd buy another one--a C4 coupe for winters.

Great minds think alike!!!

I currently have 2 Porsches in my garage, but one is 944. A pair of 993's??? Now that would be SWEEEEEEEEET.

Answer is: 4. replace it with a 993 turbo
That's what I did
It's not the smartest way to spend your $30K but it's the happiest way to spend it period.

With those choices, I would do #4, and add #6...a driving school. No better way to enhance ownership than improving your skills.

I'd spend $7k on a used Pontiac as my DD. that would make every drive in the 993 truely sublime.

Talking None oif the above...

Leave you 993 alone and buy a race car...a spec 944 is about $15,000. A nice running SC set up for the track can be had for a little more, leaving you some change to by your trailer...then you just need a tow vehicle...buy a Toyota Tundra Crew Cab V8 4X4 for about $30,000, whoops, there goes the budget!

I'd buy a 964 cup car. The 993 Turbo really doesn't interest me. I'd rather save up for a 996 GT3.

Based on your list, though, I'd re-gear if it were a street car. My D class race car has almost every allowable mod, the turbo or supercharger being illegal in my class.

  1. regear
  2. suspension
  3. aerokit

None of the above are smart but, life is short, enjoy what you enjoy
