Before I pull the trigger on new wheels and tires a question:

Plan to get Techart Formulae- they are so beautiful IMO.
They are 18 x 8.5 and 18 x 10.5.
My car is C4S with ROW height.
I'm planning to put Kumho MX's on and have a choice:
Fr 235 or 245/40 18
Rr 295/35 18
Are these ok and which would you recommend on the fronts?
TIA

I have 225's with these rims and they are good 235's would be O.K. but I agree with ceboyd that 245 would be pushing it. Are you going to run spacers in the back? I have an NB and the rears fit perfect on mine so the rears on yours would need a spacer to look right.

There a much better experts on here then me but IF my memory serves me correct a 25mm spacer works. But please don't rely on my info. Search "wheel spacers". I'm pretty sure rennlist member Bill Verberg is the man with this type of stuff.

I'm so close on the wheels- would love to see them photo shopped onto my silver 4S- can anyone assist if I email a photo? Even just crude moc up would be great.

If you are asking fit questions, the rim width and tire specs are meaningless without offset numbers. That said, if I had a widebody 993 I would go with at least 11" or 11.5" in the rear and 9" in the front.

on my 95 993 C2 (narrow body-same front end)...
i've run 245 front tires on 8.5 X 18 wheels (approx stock offset) with my car lowered with firm PSS9 and approx 1 degree negative camber and have had some rubbing issues on drivers side fender edge on bumps while wheel is turned-in.
it seems that drivers side is usually the problem and not passengers side. rolling fender egde would probably resolve rubbing problem.
remember....."there's always a faster gun in the west"

I hear you. Checking on the offset.
Call me crazy but its either these wheels or the stockers- I don't really care for any others.
So if the stock wheels are acceptable (and relatively narrow), then the new ones can only be better being somewhat wider (if less than ideal) no?

Ritter,
I just bought some new wheels for my C4S recently and like David said, the starting point is with the offsets. You need to then compare them to the stock offsets which are: 52mm (f), 40mm (r) with 8" and 10" wide wheels. I bought the BBS RSGT wheels that are 8.5" and 11" with 56mm and 45mm offests and I shouldn't have to use a spacer. I haven't put rubber on the wheels or mounted them yet, so I have not tested it, but Wheel Enhancements helped me fit them.
The offests will need to change a little unless the wheel widths are exactly the same as stock. It looks like your rear offset would be fine, but you will probably need a spacer for your fronts.
Qualification...I am not a wheel fitment expert and have little understanding of it all. This is just what I think I learned and hope that it will help you too. I recommend talking with your shop or a wheel expert about this prior to buying the wheels.
Good luck,
