996 Wheels
Does anyone have experience/an opinion on these MY 02 996 wheels currently on EBay?? They seem awefully cheap to me (I hope i copied the link correctly) :confused:

Knock offs.

These are Italian identical aftermarket replicas made to exact factory specifications. Andreas |
The weight they quote on the auction is also heavier than the stock OEM wheels (made for Porsche by BBS).

I thought only AC Cobra's and old vettes had knock offs;)
Seriously now, yes, Bob et al are correct (as usual), these are knock-offs. I would hold out for the real deal. |
Thanks a bunch- great advice as usual.

I don't know what Bob would say, but....
you'll need a seabag full of money to pull this off. New uprights for the front and rear as well as BBS and or Speedline wheels with the single large hole. Knock off s were standard on the 993 Cup Car {The Euro Race Version of the 993}
Torque this wheels down...always fun. They require approximately 300 Lbs of torque. Most guys with the GT3 Cup Cars have a single purpose $800 SnapOn torque wrench. Its about 4 feet long. As we all know, anything is possible if you want to spend enough money! :bigbye: |
