Default emission tests in PA

Brotherly love in PA

Do ALL cars have to have a emission test annually in PA or is there an exclusion for older cars ?.

Do you guys with Cat Bypass Systems have to remove them for the day of the test ??

TIA

I am not sure about an exclusion for older cars. There is one for cars that travel less than 5,000 miles during the year.

There is an emissions exclusion for all cars that do less that 5,000 miles a year. I have that for my Carrera S. The other exclusion is for cars that are at least fifteen years old and are registered as "Classic" cars. I have my 911 SC registered that way. Both cars must be inspected annually, but no emission sticker for tha "Classic" and an "Exempt" sticker for the 993.

I think it depends on the county that the vehicle is registered in. Annual inspection is required for all counties in PA. But it is my understanding that emissions inspection is only required for the urban counties surrounding the major cities, i.e. Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.
