WTB: CDR-220
I posted this in the Want to Buy forum, but I thought I'd try here as well. I'm looking for a nice CDR-220 to replace my CDR-210, so if you have upgraded to something aftermarket, or are thinking about it, I'd be happy to relieve your of your old deck. I would presume you folks would have already fixed the faceplate, which is why I hope to get a hit here. I'll cross-post anyway, though. Thanks!

Yes, ebay ... eventually. If I can, I'd rather do away with the middleman as well as deal with people who are more likely to be trustworthy and/or less greedy than a commercial ebay seller. If nothing turns up here, though, ebay will be hearing from me. There's no rush.

Contact Becker of North America, 16 Park Way, Upper Saddle River, N.J, 07458 (201) 327-3434 (888) 423-3537 info@harmanbecker.us. They sell refurbished units for $250. I believe that this includes the manual and removal keys. A warranty is also included. When you order it ask them to swap the faceplate for a modified one so you can read it in the 993; another $50. Figure $15 or so for shipping and for just over $300 you know you have a good radio with a warranty. You can get stung on eBay....ask me how I know.

Chuck W: Thanks for the input on price. Another request of you - since I installed the CRD-220 I can't read it. Whassup with that. I infer that it is not my install but something else. Can you help. If I stand up and get real close I can read it but it's tough to standup with the top up!

I have a perfect CDR-220 with a brand new brush finish modified faceplate from Becker I was going to list on eBay. If you want it for $275 it's yours. Come on over and I'll even remove your old one and install this one. As a bonus.. ..and one time offer. ..I'll throw in the Becker plug that you can plug your iPod / MP3 player into....and I am not done Dave,.. ..you'll also get the removal keys and a complete manual printed off the internet.

Chuck W. Thanks (again) for the help. I will send the faceplate to Becker. You mention a Becker plug for the iPod. Do you have a part number? Your offer to Dave is a really good one. I paid about that for the CDR-220 plus tracking down the removal keys (Mercedes dealer) and screwing with the install PLUS I paid $150 or such for the Dension IceLink equivalent of the "Becker plug" you are including. Dave, I'd take it in a flash, even without the steak knives.

Raptor...Not a problem. When you send the faceplate in ask for part number BNA.1319.116. It will give you the plug that goes into the back of the radio, the removal keys and instructions on how to activate the AUX feature on the radio. It runs about $16. You will need additional plug to go from the Becker plugs to the iPod (if that's what you're using.) I recommend this company and plug .. http://www.autosound2000.com/ipodadapters.htm. This plugs into the cables that Becker gives you and then to the iPod. The best thing about this unit is it charges the iPod while you're using it. It runs about $30.00.

Yep, I'm there, even without steak knives (do you have a source for those, too, Chuck?). Thanks, Chuck, and thanks all for adding to the collective knowledge about this relatively common topic.
