It was David in LA who tried to convince me how easy fender rolling is to do. He was right. Unfortunately, I had visions of rippled exterior sheet metal and had my mechanic do it instead. It helps to have seen it done before, hence David's request for pics.

Ok, now here's my question.
From your avatar it appears you have the 996 GT3 wheels on your car? I don't see how that is possible on a narrow body 993. I tried to fit a 996 turbo twist to my car once and they didn't even come close to fitting. Don't those GT3 wheels have an offset of 45mm in the rear? They should stick out by an inch or so.

Do you know the offset of the rear wheels you are running?

Wow adam, err I mean simpateko, you really got impatient. You were lucky the paint didn't chip. I watched my girlfriend roll her fenders without heat once and it was an aweful feeling when a huge chip of paint fell off. Count your blessings!

the rear wheel offset is 63.
these came off of a 2005 gt3, 996 gt3 is a narrow body.
they also made these wheels for wide body cars as an option, offset 45.
would have taken some pics but the camera is with the hairdryer in my wifes suitcase.

Interesting. The only GT3 wheels I've seen were in a wide body offset. I assumed they all were. Shows you how little I know about water pumpers.
