Tom, Tom, Tom...

What have you done?

Very nice ride.

However I have no choice but to turn your case over to the Team's Membership Ethics & Standards Committee for review. That thing looks just too damn fast.

Tom,

Holy Moly, a Snapping Turtle. Far cry from the one I saw in Bob's house in early 2004.

Looks aside (and it looks stunning BTW), can you give us some details on what the new mechanicals are? I know you have a new engine (of sorts) in there. Some more info. would be nice.

Enjoy in great health.

Mike: If it means a spanking is in order, I'll take my punishment Please note that while the car should be able to run 1:48 or less, I held it back to a 1:54 to ensure proper HWFM behavior.

Pong: It's still basically the same car. The engine was replaced after last years "kaboom". Class rules limit the air intake (to limit hp) so it makes 295ish at the flywheel on an engine dyno. I don't know rwhp (yet). It has MoTec now instead of the Motronic. Boring JIC-Cross suspension (perfectly adequate for my skill level) and significant liposuction to reduce the weight to 2535 (without me and only 1/8 tank of gas). More weight could be removed, but this was a good start. Jongbloed 11 & 13 x 16 wheels with bias ply slicks (10.5 and 12"). Body by Getty Design and enhancements by Jerry Woods (all the work was done at/by Jerry Woods).

Beautiful, Tom!!! You can offset your track costs by renting it out as a steam roller.

Thank goodness. I was getting worried there for a minute.

6 seconds slow is ecellent work. But remember being fast is ok, too, as long as you turn them in a HWFMR manner.

That is pretty awesome Tom. Best looking 964 I've ever seen.

So Tom, I have to ask, why the switch to 993 bodywork? I believe the 964 is a more slippery shape than the 993 (less drag), so was it just so you could fit wider wheels? Or maybe Better Bodies had better prices on the 993 parts?

Whatever the reason, the car looked great before, and it looks great after. Did you install a clearbra on that nice new paint before the track day?

I like the 993 body style better than the 964 and Getty Designs didn't have really wide flares in te 964 style (just older 911 or 993). So for me it was a no-brainer.

No clear bra. I picked it up Thursday evening and Friday morning it was on the track. It's a track car not a concours queen and it will get beaten up no matter what you attempt.

The pictures simply do not do it justice. It's a beautiful track car and the quality of work, fit and finish appears to be great. Plus the brand new trailer and truck were not too shabby either.

Lucky Guy!
