Talking Advise on Turbo

Currently have 95 993, wife has issued the OK to move up. What is the best year for the Turbo? Budget is maximum of 95K. Any advise will be appreciated.

Wow, you were given a $95K budget!!! Can you get your wife to call mine???
Unfortunately, I can't advise on year, but I'm sure with your budget you can get whatever 993 TT you want. You do want to stick to the air-cooled right? Good luck; you're one lucky guy.

Lucky man Tom! Hoping one day my wife gives me the same green light to step up to a turbo. Given that we are unbiased here in the 993 forum I would be looking for a very low mileage 993 TT for that money. You'll probably even have a few bucks left over for suspension mods. I'm sure with prices going down as they are on the 996s you could find a very nice example of a water pumper also. But to me the TT is money better spent and will maintain it's value the best.

Let us know what you decide to hunt for. I'm sure everyone will be more than willing to point out any good examples they know of. Good luck.

Jeez, you're touching on Turbo S money. Be sure to post details of the hunt often so the rest of us can live through you.

Good hunting.

don't spend it all. Find a good car at a good price, keep some $$, and "drive it like you stole it."

Or, get a high miles tt and send it to Andial.... would blow your budget, though. Could also get a high miles and do a turbo R conversion by Ruf, probably keep it in line....

For that kind of money, I'd look for a RUF for sure. Forget the Turbo S.

I'd pick up a late 01 production. They are in the low 70's if you look around. I've seen a few in the high 60's.

Excuse me while I zip up my Nomex

How do you make a small fortune even smaller Alan?

I like the nomex part though.
