Default Pics of unique 18" wheels...would you use them?

Okay after lurking on this forum for months and getting lots of good advice I have finally registered AND joined.....the quality of the tech info and the pics of what you guys have done to your cars blow me away. So here's my query: I want to upgrade to 18s on my 96 NB but Turbo Twists are sooo expensive plus possibly look a little dated. I can get these aftermarket wheels from Europe at a good price but weight is unknown and check the specs below. So what do you think? Rub? Too iffy going aftermarket? Thanks for your thoughts.

18” Cup II replicas
F: 8.5X18 ET 52:
R: 10X18 ET 47

should be a pic of a car with these wheels right here....

Talking and yes I know the recommended wheel size...

My owner's manual sez...

Offsets/sizes for optional 18" wheels on a NB 993 is:
Fronts 18x8 - ET 52
Rears 18x10 - ET 65

I wouldn't, even if they would fit. The "Cup II" wheel was the factory 17" fitment for the 993. A "Cup II" in 18" is funny to me.....

If you think twists look dated - how about the dash design?

I've always thought the 18" cups II's look pretty slick. Another option is to buy the Ebay cheapo MY02 5-spokes.

I always thought the aftermarket 18" Cup 2 design looked awesome. I wish Porsche made them from the beginning. Anyway, I think they're heavy as crap unfortunately. Going for looks alone, they have my vote!

I've never seen those before but they do look good! Shame if they are really heavy but if you are buying just for looks what the hell?!

Cheers,

Default ...well, not JUST for looks....

Thanks for the input guys. I don't want them if they are heavy but I haven't been able to find out how much they weigh (Gert is checking for me.) That's one thing about the Turbo Twists--they are light. I wouldn't buy the Turbo-look twists--they weigh some 6 lbs more per wheel.

Here's another pic of the Cup II 18s.....anybody got pics of a black or dark blue C2 with Turbo Twists? Red?

I'll be honest, I'd go with the 18" cup II's. I don't love the look of the twists, but it is better than 17s. You can get a used set of twists for pretty cheap off of ebay. Now that I have the 928 and my kart, my 993 is primarily a street car so wheel weight isn't quite as big of an issue. I'm toying with the idea of getting some replica MY02's. How much are the 18" cups you are speaking of? Those offsets are incorrect, though. I don't have many pictures of my car with the wheels painted silver, but here are a few that I do have:

Since my new idea is to keep this car as stock as possible, I'm sticking to the 17" Cup II's but have taken the time to trick a set out so they won't look so plain. (See my other thread)
The 18"s do look pretty awsome though.............ZP44

Here's some twists on a black cab like yours. I've thought about different wheels but I think these still look fine, plus they're hollow spoke.

I like the OE Cup IIs, and so in 18" they look just as good. Personally, I wouldn't sweat the extra weight if it's not for track use. For a street car, you'll never notice the difference. If you like the look and the price is right, go for it.

Red, Do many people buy these knock-off wheels? What is the quality?
