Default hard cold start and weird squeeling sound

I have about 101K on my car right now. Recently, (Twice) I've had some trouble starting the engine when it's cold outside. I have to crank it twice and give maybe 10% throttle to fire it up.

Also, in the last few months, Once in a while, I would hear a loud squeel at idle. sounds almost like a vacuum leak, but I'm not sure what it is.

Any help appreciated!

How old is your battery and what is the charge? You might try swapping the DME relay. The squeal *could* be the fan belt sensor. Check www.p-car.com for it's location & how to check.

The battery must be a bit old. I will see what I can do about that one. Maybe it's time to replace.

Thanks for the tip for the fan belt thing. I think that's the root cause. I didn't see it on the site until you pointed it. I must be going blind.

Any trouble idling? Might want to clean out the ISV valve too.

I had a squeeling noise at start up when I got my car. All it was was one of the belts were loose. Installed all new belts. No squeeling.

I'm pretty sure the squeeling is the belt sensor. I'll fix that this weekend.

Forgot to mention I have a 95. No trouble idling, and it doesn't happen all the time. I doubt it's the battery since I can start it just fine every morning. Last week, it was pretty cold at night, and it had the same starting problem with 1/2 a tank of fuel. I just realized yesterday when it did that, it was very low on fuel. But this morning it started up just fine before I filled it up. If it happens again, I'll give an update.

Thanks for everyone's help
