Hi all. This is my first post on the 993 forum. I just happened upon this as I've been looking at the 997 forum to learn as much as possible about those prior to making a purchase of one. As such, I've got a '95 coupe for sale. 73K miles with main dealer service since I've owned it (Nov '97). It's white with grey interior. It's not cosmetically perfect (curb rash from wife's parking efforts, etc.), but it's been well loved and used at the same time. Maybe I've missed something here, but the values of these cars seems to be entirely subjective with wide fluctuations. I had always thought that at best my car would be worth something in the low to mid twenties. Thoughts?

Tango, your welcome. Find a car that has been taken care of by a decent sports car owner. The guy that just likes to drive a nice car takes care of it and does not have time to mess with selling it, so he trades it in for another nice sports car. Check with the high-end new car dealers on a regular basis. You will find your ride, let them know your looking. They would be glad to sell it to you instead of flipping it in the auction market...if its in good shape. Most high-end dealers really don't like to sell a piece of used crap.
Irish, mid 20's yes. The latest Excellence Magazine has a market update for late model 911's, it’s interesting to compare last years update to this year. The 993’s are starting to come down in value. I think (and I could be wrong) its cause the new 911’s, and now the Cayman are appealing to the 993 owners who are looking for something newer.
BTW, my suggestion to Tango is only for a high mileage 993. I agree that a low to medium mileage garage queen is better purchased directly from the Owner…something in the 35K to 75K mileage range.

I bought a 993 with 187,000 but it had every record from day one and all service was dealer performed on time. I have not driven it much save the trip back to Ohio from NYC but it runs great and did not seem to use any appreciable amount of oil. It has new brakes, rotors and clutch along with some other stuff that added up to a $4500 service bill 1500 miles ago. I did put new tires on it this week just because I did not like the ones that were on it and they were nearing the end of their useful life. I paid $18900.00 and got an extra set of Cup II's . The neatest things that differ from my previous 993's is the litronics (which is awesome compared to the regular headlights) and a factory short shifter. Anyway, so far so good. Full report coming when I can get it in the garage and up on stands this week.

What are the popular search methods for finding these deals?
18.9 is a killer price just for a clean shell let alone one you can drive instead of trailer it back

I hate to bust the bubble but I bought a 95' with 90k miles for $22,500.00 from the original (female) owner. It was her daily driver and in perfect mechanical condition... till she got her 997 and then parked the 993 on the street where it's bumpers were scratched as well as the wheels. I had no sympathy for a new 997 owner and figured $22,500.00 was actually a fair price considering the 90K mile service was due and the cosmetics. I did 2 PPI's and have ALL service records from day one @ the dealer . Since the purchase:
18" BLACK turbos, PSS9 suspension, and of course bumber resprays.
I've tried to post photos but they're all over a GB.
Best of luck in your search and welcome to the precipice .

A 97 with 100L miles just sold this week for $25K on Ebay......the description of the car states 9.5/10. You will mind a car at a deal if you have patience. You might find someone how wants to just get rid of it, someone who is in need of $$$$, or someone that will take 2 grand over what the dealer would pay. The most imporant thing is a PPI. a 20K 933 might cost you 30K in the long run.
I know of a 95 with 60K in the upper 20s, let me know if interested

Might you be better off with a nice example of a 964, rather than a potentially troublesome 993? Then, you can upgrade to a 993 in the future when you can afford a nice one. If you do opt for a 993, make sure and have a veeeery thorough PPI done. Just an idea - if you really want the 993, go for it.

I know nothing other than viewing the listing, but it likely won't meet reserve on eBay as most 993s don't. But you could always investigate and if it checks out potentially strike a deal off line in this one...They probably want to dump it.
