Default Impractical to convert reg. 993 to widebody (a la Turbo/C2S/C4S)?

C2S/C4S's are pretty rare and seem to command +$10k or more vs. C2.

Because its really the same basic platform do people ever convert to
S/widebody? Is the cost crazy?

What might the coach work cost approx.?

Brakes?

I would assume it's pretty straightforward, considering the widebody cars use the same suspension arms as the NB's, just different wheel offsets. Parts needed would be rear bumper, rear fenders, rocker panels, mufflers to fit widebody bumper, and of course a nice paint job. I'm sure someone can chime in if I'm missing something.

As far as cost, it might even be cheaper to do the GT-2 rear end treatment... Just buy the rear bumper, but keep the NB fenders and cut out the arches to fit the plastic GT-2 extensions. Not sure about the other parts, I'm just thinking out loud...

I can't imagine that anyone would pay a premium for a car that had been so modified....it might even be worth less.

It just seems there are so few C2S/C4S's even if you can find one the chances of it being the right color combo are very slim.

If you planned to keep the car for long enough (I do) it might be worth the investment.

What for? To satisfy your ego? Live with a narrow body.

The widebody 993 isn't the huge difference you get between a Carrera and 930, or between a 964 and 965... A 993 NB with good suspension (lowered) and 18x10+ rear wheels looks better than a 993TT with stock suspension, imo. The only true widebody cars in my opinion are the old RSR/M471/930/965 cars.

Ego?? Ego has nothing to do with it- the w/b 993 looks better proportioned to me.

I bet you'd spend minimum $7500 to convert to WB. More if you did a quality repaint.

And you would still have a bastardized car.

Doesn't the narrow body have better aerodynamics and less understeer, all other things being equal?
