Default Factory Stereo Replacement

I have a 1995 993 with a factory cassette player. What ipod compatable CD player replacement is recommended with an all black face plate that looks and works good?

Try the Porsche CDR 220 by Becker. It is a factory stereo and for about $15 you can hookup your iPod. Give the folks a call at www.beckerautosound.com

Easy plug and play install from current factory headunit.

Hi,

I've got a Becker DTM sat/nat which looks virtually factory-fit (much the same as above) - I'm pretty pleased with that, and it has AUX-in..

In my 964, I had a Nakamichi CD-400, also with AUX-in.. That sounded really nice, and is a classy looking unit which fits in nicely..

Dave.

I have a becker indianapolis CD / MP3 CD / Radio / NAV / IPOD unit - again it looks standard, has big buttons and an absence of glitzy displays showing dolphins mating or some other such nonsense.

It has IMO the best user interface of any car hifi unit I have come across and the NAV component is flawless - the same software as becker put in the new 997 Nav unit...

Dump the old CDR-210 and get a CDR-220.

For your iPod, contact Becker of North America at (888) 423-3537, and ask for part number BNA.1319.116. This will give you the plug for the rear of the radio and the keys to remove the radio. It cost about $16.00. Next go to this link, http://www.autosound2000.com/ipodadapters.htm. This plugs into the cables that Becker gives you and then to the iPod. The best thing about this unit is it charges the iPod while you're using it. It runs about $30.00. It'll say $35 but when you check out the price is lower. At least that’s what it did for me.
