Adam,

Congrats on the bumper install. I have some (perhaps too belated) information from Ruf, as well as a pile of pictures I took of my installation. First of all, that "stiffner" IS installed on my car. The turbo indeed has a "cat shield", and mine is no where close to being visible... its up very high. Perhaps the NA is different. The Ruf tech also said the the muffler heat shields should be cut around the vents. He also suggested that you paint your mufflers with a high-temp black paint... for cosmetic reasons, since you will be able to see the muffler through the vent. Let me know if you need those pictures.

Steve, are you ever gonna dot eh RUF mirrors? Or shave the gutters? Your car is so amazing, it would be rad if you did either mod.....make it look like a Factory RUF.

Mirrors are a possibility, but repainting the doors for the old holes is a bummer. Shaving the gutters is a really serious, difficult piece of work. The top is actually "rolled" into the sides of the car in those gutters, so if you were to just grind them off, the car would probably fall apart. I watched a guy do it once... he would grind about a 2" section then weld. You'd have to have the headliner out. Too big a project for me to consider, but I agree... its georgous like that. Did you check out Leon's Turbo R? Gives me the *******, its so nice.

You'll probably be happy with them. IMO they sound great and are top quoality job.
I ent with supercups and no cats because of the weight and I guess because I'm obnoxious!

Well... Yeah. 130 cubic inch straight pipe chopper kind of obnoxious.

Then, take out the baffles (I take when I'm at track)... Sounds fabulous, absolutely fabulous but you'll get complaints 50 miles away.

MJ, whatta hell?! You're calling my car and there for me obnoxius?! You bastard!

Finn,

You know that I LOVE the way your car sounds...to people that have never heard it, I tell them the story likes its an urban myth!!!

Hopefully soon your baby will have a white twin!!!

Adam,

If you are getting some fouling with your wheels you need a fresh look. Are you running stock wheel/tyre sizes? Where is it hitting? back, front, inside, top? Low speed or high speed? You should be able to tell by looking for scuff marks. Are you sure it's the bumper and not something else. I know I sound like an old git but I think a bit more thought and less haste! You said that you had to really bully those parts in there so it sounds like something got forced where it shouldn't have.

Good luck!

Cheers,

David

Adam...Several Rennlisters are running Robin's RSR's here in the Seattle area including me. Before I purchased mine I was given a demo ride and listen by one of the guys here...too bad you didn't ask as I am sure some one would have given you a ride and listen as well...too late now since they will be here shortly!

Randy, and how do you like yours. On a scale of 1-10 1 being stock, and 10 being full catless with supercups, how loud would you rate these? Also how much louser are they than the Motorsounds? I am gonn mate them to Catbypasses...so I'm sure the sound will be righteous! I really appreciate your offer though! Should have thought about it first!
