What year is your car? A '95 993 can be "chipped", but the '96 to '98 requires the ECU to be flashed. Look up Rennsport Systems in Oregon and/or talk to Steve Weiner there. Here's a link:

I have a Weltmeister chip in my car, it's ok but probably not worth the $ (It came in the car). If I were going to buy one, it would be from Steve.
Though I will say, your money would be better spent on a performance driving school, that will make you faster than a chip!

Mine also came with the Weltmeister chip. Any idea on actual gains? I thought I read somewhere that it provides up to 15 extra HP, but I'm sure at what stratospheric RPM this happens.

Not sure. The PO of my car did not have it installed, so I put it in. Feels like a bit more pull in the lower RPM's, but prob just in my head. I have noticed a drop in gas mileage 2-3 mpg since I installed it (according to the OBC).
