It's a 1995 coupe in Metallic Black/Black.
I won't bore you with the story of my life-long quest to be a Porsche owner. Suffice it to say, the bug bit me when I was about 7 or 8 years old when I rode in the back of a 911 owned by a schoolmate's dad. Now, at age 40, after many years of working and saving, and about four solid years of research, driving, and waffling over what kind of Porsche I really wanted (any 911 > 356 > IM Roadster > 356 Outlaw > 3.2/G50 > 993 > 356 > 911SC or 3.2 > 993), and wondering if the memory of my boyhood experience had become a romanticized fantasy not to be equalled by any adult driving experience, it was the 993 that became the realization of my dream.
Thanks to those of you who have answered my questions here, and who's questions and answers I've read as a lurker. I guess it's time for me to become a paying member, as I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions as I move forward. And a special thanks to Tim Stewart, who looked at another 993 I was considering and gave me a very detailed review.
Some details on my 993: 87k miles, turbo twists, Bat Phone, fairly recent clutch/tranny work, good service history, good PPI, needs only tires, I paid in the mid 20s.
Plans for the car? Right now: 90k service, tires, professional detail (gift from my wife), drive and enjoy.
In the near future: remove engine tray, experiment with airbox cover (already has what might be a motorsound cover), Valentine 1, stereo/do something with Bat Phone console (power amps? sub? nav?).
In the not-too-distant future: suspension, exhaust (I need to hear some in person), and maybe get into DE or AX.
In the very distant future (retirement?): Add a 356 Outlaw.
Here are some "before" pics. Ahh, this feels good. This feels very good...

Bruce,
LOL! ...sounds very similar to my "story." Well I'm now into my 5th (6th?) year of Porsche ownership and NO sign of smile abatement! On the contrary, my 993 acquisition and ensuing enthusiasm only fueled my disease, and it prompted me to get another car last year (my SC Trackmeister-in-progress). It's a sickness: acknowledge it and embrace it ...it's easier than denying it.![Wink](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Congrats, and enjoy in good health!!

Congrats!!!
And as I was reading through the list of your future plans, I was especially looking for suspension and I'm glad it was there.
Enjoy the ride, it's awesome!

Thanks for the warm welcome. I don't think it has even sunk in yet. I've been thinking and dreaming and researching and looking and test driving...for so long, it's hard to believe it has finally happened. I keep pulling the key out of my pocket and looking at it. And of course I'm walking around with a big fat grin on my face all day.
Yes, those are 18" hollow spoke turbo twists. For tires, I think I'll be going with S-02As. I posted another thread about sizes and I think I'm gonna go with 225/40/18 and 265/35/18 (which is what's on there now, althought the rears almost look too narrow for the rims). I'm certain there's no steering rack brace, so that's on my list.
Thanks again!
