After buying my 993s and having it for a few days i noticed that the arm rest on the drivers side lifted up - inside iIfound an small electronic box with buttons. The only writing besides pictures of speakers next to the buttions is "NOKIA - Digital Sound Processing". Does anybody know what this is for? Is this for using a moble phone or is it just some kind of amp system??? The power light comes on when the ignition is on.

This is the V. expensive option to make you car "sound" different.

IIRC there is a button with a speedo next to it. Supposed to increase sound level with speed if selected.

There there are icons with and without a steering wheel (IIRC). Makes the soundscape appear to be around the driver or not, and the narrow and wide speaker spacing makes the sound appear as if it's closer or further away.

A gimmick really. There's another button too, but I can't remeber it's function right now.

thanks for that - thought perhaps it was for interupting the music when a phone call came through.

I've got it in mine as well. Wow, another Alan in Hong Kong with a 993 - nice to hear from you.

Btw, the other button is for the extra bass mode.
