Adrian's book - it really does exist!
After a long, long wait my copy arrived today. I've only had chance to have a very cursory look through it - but it seems quite good. It's certainly very heavy!

I have my copy - its thorough and very comprehensive - but the disappointment is twofold - only black and white pictures and its a paperback not a hardback.

I am sorry you are disappointed with my book.
The reason it is in B&W and a soft cover is cost. This book like my previous books have to be affordable.
When we investigated a hard cover version with colour images the production and RRP costs quadrupled.
Both my 996 and BMW M3 versions will also be in B&W with soft covers and remain affordable.
Ciao,
Adrian.

Adrian,
I am also disapointed to hear that this printing is only Black and white pix. I was expecting a very classy coffee table picture book. Espically at eighty or ninety US $. Perhaps a second printing in color under $200 US could be put forth. I am listed on the publishers list to be notified when available, but have not heard a peep.??

I do not write Porsche coffee table books.
My books are for people to take to their cars and get their dirty greasy finger prints all over them.
To take along to do an inspection on their possible new purchase.
To take to their mechanic to show him how they want something done.
How to do things yourself.
Yes they can sit on the coffee table as well, but I never write nor really consider the coffee table market.
I write for Porsche enthusiasts, primarily the DIY person. My inspiration has always been the DIY Rennlister.
There are other authors who do Porsche picture books for coffee tables. I would never consider writing nor charging 200 bucks for a book.
If you are expecting a coffee table book then this book is not for you. This book is about the 993, complete with get down and get dirty stuff.
The prime aim of my books is to save the owner money by increasing their knowledge and abilities to tackle various projects.
When I was in the USA last time, many 964 owners came to me and told me that my 964 book had saved them far more than its purchase price. That to me is what my books are all about. The 911SC book has had a similar impact. I am sure the 993 book will do the same for some people.

If you want it immediately and don't mind paying full price, then www.veloce.com.
If, on the other hand, you want to save a few bob (c. £20) and don't mind waiting, then you could order it from somewhere like Tesco or Amazon online.

I haven't gotten mine yet (still waiting), but if I may say (to Adrian, especially) that I got my SC book in time for Christmas, and I love it! For those of you who own an SC, this book is also really nice to have, and it's fun to see cars that you "know" by virtue of this and the Pelican board. Kudos, Adrian!
