Default Pss-9 ride height and bump steer

How low can one go with Pss-9s before you get into bump steer? I am at about 25" fr/ 24.75" r. I am getting some significant bumpsteer, but my tires are old ,which in my past experience tends to increase it.

I am slightly above RS height (not sure fender measurements) and get bump steer.

Much past RoW M030 and you stand a real good chance of bump steer. RoW M030 is-30mm from US +/- 10mm, but you definately take your chances if you initally set at -40mm as you still have to corner balance.

I am at ROW M030 height and have, what I consider, a lot of bump steer. This was verified on an alignment rack with the laser beams on its target and the front suspension pulled down about an inch. I was really shocked and disapointed at the same time. Come on Porsche, you could have done better than that with the front suspension geometry..

Gee, Chris, its a big ask to say Porsche should have engineered the rack height vs tie rod position in one fell stroke for all the different ride heights ...

Its obvious they recognised the problem with the RS, having specified new uprights and tie rods. So having one size upright / tie rod cover from RoW M030 to US SUV heights is pretty good really !

Of course, when I look at the tie rod angles on my car with PSS9 at RS heights, it looks scary, but seems reasonable on the road ... and difficult to justify the RS bits to fix .. !

cheers, Maurice

Hey Don - I'm having the same problems with my recently installed HDs at about that same height. To make it worse, my car is apparently riding on the bump stops in front. Can you say "scary handling?" I just spoke with Moorespeed last week about fixing the ride height and alignment when I get new tires. You might give David a call.

Don -

Here is a thread I posted from John Gordon's car some time ago. This was even at about 25 1/2" in front. Check the angle out of the toe arm. Lowering it just makes it worse. Notice though the diff with the Evo upright. MUCH better....

Bob, i am at 25.0 " on the front, and i get some bumpsteer. Is that too low in terms of the effective range of the PSS-9s?

Bob,
You may have posted this before but I will ask anyway. What parts are required, prices of them and labor involved in fixing this bumpsteer problem?

Don - you are not past the effective range of the PSS9s. Bumpsteer is an issue at that height though.

TrackJunke - I'll send you an email...
