I do not know of anyone in the states that rebuilds the 993 torque tubes. You can get rebuilt ones as well as new from Porsche. Yes more than likely out of Germany though....

I have actually not seen a bearing go bad in a 993 torque tube yet. I have seen broken drive shafts though on 993TTs. Also seen numerous bad viscous couplers. Yours would be the first torque tube with bad bearings.

The torque tube houses the drive shaft between the transmission and the front differenetial. It is a round metal housing about 4-5' long with several internal bearings that keep the drivshaft in place between the two.

Do the front wheels turn with the rear wheels when the car is on a lift? The driveshaft might have snapped -- the way mine was on my former 95 C4 cab -- and the ends could be rubbing together. Mine was such a clean break it looked like it was lasered.
