When shifting from second to third, I feel a little "click" or "notchiness". It's a bit hard to describe--not a grind or crunch, but just a little feeling of two mechanical parts coming into contact. It happens more when the transmission is cold, and more if I shift quickly. I've driven other 993s, and they don't have this feeling.
Shifting in all other gears is buttery smooth. The clutch releases fully, with no grinding when shifting from neutral into first or second just after depressing the clutch.
The current gear lube is Mobil 1 75w-90. Previously I tried Swepco 201.
Any ideas?

How old is your gbx oil? Is this something that has just started? Problems or syncro wear usually show up starting with upshifts into 3rd.
Downshift trouble or coming out of a gear selection typically indicates clutch release problems.
Sorry, not much help..

Hi Chris,
The gearbox lube has less than 5,000 miles on it, and the car has 31,000. It's been doing this for about a year. It has always been shifted carefully.
