Default Any recommendations for a referee station in Marin?

I just moved from IL to Novato, CA and my 993 failed the Smog check. I don't have numbers as to why it failed as my wife just had it done. I've seen posts about these referee stations, but don't know if any are up in the North Bay.

Any advice?

Also, can anyone recommend a good mechanic up that way for future use?

Thanks,

Chris

I know there's one in Fremont @ Wyotech and one in South San Jose @ Evergreen Valley College - the Fremont dyno is aboveground, and the one in SJ is in-ground. Make sure to ask about the kind of dyno if you've lowered your 993.

Call (800) 622-7733 for info and to schdule an appt - the website is http://www.smogcheck.ca.gov

Hmmm, how does he know all this... :P

I just went to the referee station at Santa Rosa JC. I'm getting pretty familiar with the smog check (and Readiness codes if you have a 96 or newer). PM me and we'll stick my OBDII reader on and see what it says. I live in the next town north of you in Petaluma.

Thank you both for the info. I had to do the 90k service anyway, so I had it done at it passed with flying colors.
