Default Where to find Boxster red leather

I'm planning aftermarket seats for Ginger's Boxter red interior and a trim guy I went to is having probs running down leather in the right color. Anyone have a source for hides?
Thanks,
Mark

Even if you got leather from the factory there will may still be a difference in color not just because of color fade but also because of variations between batches. I would consider keeping the aftermarket seats black and recovering your rear seats for a two tone interior.

David,
The dash, seats, and console are all slightly different so one more shade diff probably won't be noticed. Guess I need to decide on a seat first anyway.
BTW - Gahh has the Boxster red hides. Thanks for the lead

The dash and console are different texture so the difference in shades will be less noticeable...it the rear seats that will show the diffence the most. Also, if you keep the aftermarket seats black you will have an easier time selling them if you ever decide to (this was part of my thinking when I was considering a seat swap). Also, if you don't have a full leather interior, then you can use this opportunity to recover the center console (easy), door inserts (easy) and door and rear panels (more difficult). Good luck

That color doesn't look like Boxter red... maybe it is the camera? It appears to be more like, off the top of my head, "Chessnut." As I recall, Viken, who is sorely missed from this board, Bedrossian (sp?) had the same color. He posted pics so a search should turn up a couple of photos.

Tom,
The camera doesn't show the real color. It's really a more of a clay/orange in person. I checked the option codes and it shows Boxster.

Either way, they are both great colors. Have fun with your project!

Viken did not have "Chessnut" interior, his black 993 had a black interior, as a matter of fact he hates that color.

BTW it is Chestnut .

I have Chesnut Brown and that looks just like it! It really never photographs that well though. If you checked the interior option code and it is Boxter Red, then that is what it must be.

Good Luck.

A couple other people have called it Chestnut Browm as well. Looking at the Porsche leather colors on the Gahh website, I dont see Chestnut mentioned.

These shots may be somewhat more true.
