Default OT: Panamera in DTM?

I was reading an article this week about the DTM series in Europe (http://www.dtm.de/index.en.php). This is basically the european equivalent of NASCAR.

I am wondering if Porsche will race the Panamera in this series ...

I'm sorry, but i'm gong to have to disagree with you on that part about DTM being the european equivalent of NASCAR. That just doesn't do DTM justice.

Porsche hasnt race in anything meaningful in so long. What would make them do it now? Great they offer GT3 and the new Petite LeMan car. But, what about F1! Dont worry my fellow Porsche friends. They will finally offers us that 4 door which we all been dreaming about.

The reference to NASCAR was from the Road & Track article I read (Feb 2006, page 112) and was not meant to be derogatory. Personally I am not a huge NASCAR fan (although my dad dragged me to Rockingham twice a year starting when I was 10 years old) but you cannot argue with it's success.

My question more centered around whether the Panamera would meet the criteria for DTM admission based upon what we know about the car so far ...
