Default Falken Azenis RT 615

Hi all, merry X-mas !

I got a question about those tires.

I had been really impressed with the Azenis RT 215 on miatas, and I am really thinking about giving the new Falken RT 615 a try on my '95 993.

I have a DE in 3 weeks and need new tires. Those Falken are pretty cheap. I want something similar to the Dunlop SSR's I have on my 18" rims (but not much rubber left either Why did they stop making those ). I want cheap tires, with a pretty good grip, that I can still drive from time to time as a street tire.
So why not fitting those on my 17" rims ?

But it looks like I'd be the 1st one on rennlist putting those Falkens on a 993. Am I right ?

The sizes I'm thinking about are : 215/45-17 and 255-40-17. I guess the extra cm in the front would be nice anyway.

Anyone strongly agrees / disagrees with this choice ?

Otherwise, I'll be happy to share my experience with you in a few weeks...

Absolutely, go with them. They are actually better than 215s, which I love on my Miata. They are better in teh wet and dissipate heat a little better.

Go with 225 up front, not 215.

I'll second the 225 in front opinion. Can't comment on the tire choice, however. What tires do you have now?

Good... I'll go with the Falkens then, 225 in the front.

I have 2 sets of wheels, I currently have SO2As on the 17" rims, and Dunlop SSRs on the 18" rims.
It seems like they will have the right sizes for the 18" sometime (says TBA).

Thanks for info. I'll tell you how they do on the track.
