Talking I have had both...let me share my experiences...

The M030 suspension (US) and RoW is OEM from Monroe. It is not height adjustable with the exception of a choice of shims of three different thicknesses for the rear, and some slight adjustment of the front spring perches for corner weighting...very little thread though. The ride height of the car is from the length of the springs. I ran M030 (RoW) for a while...nice set up for the street and track. I ran 22mm M030 (RoW) front bars and 21mm rear sway bars from a 993TT Euro Car. The spring rates for the M030 (US) and M030 (RoW) is approximately 155 Lbs/Inch front and 280Lbs/Inch rear.

Now here is one big difference between the Monroe's and the Bilstein PSS9s: The M030 US or RoW will probably last 30,000 + miles..maybe twice that. I think Rennlister Ray Calvo reports > 50,000 miles on a set. Many other folks report far less mileage. The PSS9s are guaranteed for the life of the car (probably with the original owner). This could be nice if they sprung a leak in a few years.

The PSS9s are a lot stiffer with primary and tender springs on both ends of the car. The front is approximately 250 Lbs/Inch and the rear anywhere from 400 to 685 depending on who you read. The rear is 150% stiffer than M030, hmmmm. That might just be a little stiff for cruising in a bumpy road.

If I were not planning on tracking the car, I would go with Bilstein HD with the added 30mm of thread to the front strut to allow for more lowering flexibility, and add stock or M030 (US) springs. The RoW springs are the same as the compression specs as the US, so why pay for the slightly shorter spring when you can lower the car to your heart's content with the Bilstein HD shocks.

I have Bilstein PSS9s now, nine (9) way adjustable. I run full soft on the street, and full stiff on the front for the track, 2 clicks off full stiff for the rear at the track. Sweet set up...but overkill for pure street.

In conclusion, were I you I would get the Bilstein HD shocks with M030 (US) springs. You'll be in Hog Heaven!

I'm going with the PSS9 camp, but only IF one plans on doing more than a few DE's/year. Otherwise, I'd save the dough and go with the HDs and either the M030-RoW or H&R springs for fewer than 3 DE weekends/year. And FWIW, I do not find the PSS9s the least bit objectionable on my daily-driven car ...I just doubt there's any appreciable advantage over the HDs for street-only applications.

And Eric is correct on the PSS9's adjustments for both rebound and compression damping. Though it's just one ****, that adjustment is set up to ramp both rebound and compression accordingly (to Bilstein's specs) as you turn the **** ...got this from a tuner that spoke directly with a Bilstein engineer. I can verify via butt dyno that settings 1 and 2 have considerably more compression damping than settings 8 or 9.

I have tracked with the pss9 with stiffest setting (1 F+R) and when couple with Yoko A048 it just unbeatable. Not even a Ferrari 360 can shake off my 11year old baby.....

And I set it at 6 for street use, more comfortable then my previous Bilstein HD and Eibach springs.
