Default Offsets for Kinesis K18Rs

Getting ready to order a set of Kinesis K18Rs for my C2S widebody. Before I order, I must specify offests. According to the archives search, I see conflicting information about widebody front and rear offsets...

I am ordering 18x8.5 fronts and 18x10.5 rears. Whhels pictured/description here: http://www.wheelenhancement.com/inde...lDetail&id=106

Ive seen everything from 50mm front offset and 40mm rear to numerous variations in between. The car will be equipped with PSS9s and lowered, obviously. Looking for anyone that may have these rims already and/or may be able to provide concrete offset specs for me.

AC993C2S,

Afternoon. I have a 1997 C2S with Kinesis F110's and I'm running F:19X8.5 (50mm) and R:19X11.5 (40mm) on the car. I also have HD's and HandR springs on the car. I had the fenders (rear) cut but I still get a little rub when encountering a large dip. You are going to LOVE the car even more once the install and wheels/tires are on. And don't forget an alignment!!!!

You can email me at jking@netapp if you have any other questions.

Good luck.

Regards,
JKing

Thanks JKing...a corner blanace and alignment will def. happen. It seems that the 50 F and 40 R are pretty much standard for the widebody, but I wanted to check with fellow Rennlisters before ordering.

AC,

I run 996TT wheels on my 993C2S. The rear wheels are 11" wide and fit perfectly. My car is low (PSS-9 and lowered) and I'm presently running 295/30-18s. I just don't remember the offset, but I'll check tomorrow.

i have been dealing with dave martin at w.e. on a set of k18r's also. they seem very knowledgable on correct offsets and applicable widths for your particular car. i am surprised they didnt offer you that information in your original price quote. great choice by the way....

Do you have a widebody? If so, do you mind sharing your offset specs?

ac, sorry mine is a narrow body. i am not sure who you are dealing with on your wheels, but it doesnt sound like w.e. (no affiliation) or you would have been given that info. i would guess that if you have tell them the offsets because they dont have a clue, hang up immediately. i can also tell you and some others here on the renn that these guys are pretty top notch and i personally know for a fact their prices are hard to beat on the kinesis or hre's. i am sure you will get different variations here on the renn of what offsets people got to work on their cars. when you order $4500.00 worth of custom built 3 piece wheels by other peoples recommendation versus the wheel manufacture and the dealers specs they probably arent going to build you a second set for free if what you ordered didnt work out. why chance it? it is their world, they know what is right and what is wrong.

i went ahead and did some legwork for you and contacted "dave at wheel enhancement" personally, he said, ( keep in mind that THESE offsets will ONLY apply to the 18" Kinesis "R" series wheels) We being (w.e) would normally build an 8.5x18" K18R with a 48mm offset and a 10.5x18" K18R for the rear, also with a 48mm offset, for a 1998 993 C2S.

good luck..

Thanks for the info...that rear offset is quite a ways from the 40mm that I came up with...anyone else have first hand knowledge? Just looking for a standard offset for the widebody.

Love those K18Rs!

Here are the measurements for the standard Turbo Look II wheels for the widebodies (courtesy of Gert's site):

Front 8Jx 18" ET 50
Rear 10J x 18" ET 47

Beyond that...I would take faster's advise and call Dave Martin directly. He's a great guy and will know exactly what the offsets should be for your application.

Cheers,

Rick

Rick,

The 993 TT wheels are 8x18/52mm front and 10x18/40mm rear. The rear wheels mentioned by Faster are a half an inch wider, and by offset would sit in about 3/8". A turbo look II with an offset of 47mm and a 10" width will actually sit in about 3/8". I would think that a spacer would be used with those on a C2S or C4S.

52 front and 40 rear for TT hollow spokes, which are 8" and 10". Other wheel widths will vary that.
