Default What Color is This?

The seller calls it "metallic black." There are a couple more pics in the ad.

TIA!

Ask him for the paint code located on the sticker on the underside of the trunk lid. Looks like metallic black or slate gray.

Ooooh! It has the cool Star Trek phone console!

Did you ask him why the trans was rebuilt?

black metallic (the color of my 993) looks from a distance (or when it is dirty) to be black, but as you get closer (in sunlight) you see lots of colors (from brown to purple) in the metallic flakes. nice color, more interesting, imo, than basic black, but no easier to maintain in the long run (black shows everything).

I have Metallic Black as well. Looks fantastic when clean, but has the same issues as plain black (shows every spec of dirt & rock chips). Has a somewhat brown & copper hue to it in bright sunlight. You really have to see it in person.

I know that car from CL, I made an offer of $26K 8 mo. ago. Glad he didn't accept. Scooped up the same model/color on CL 3 mo. later for $22,500K. If you can get it for around $25K AFTER PPI, do it. And yes, the paint gets dirty PDQ.

I'm not sure if I like the color. I am really looking for black. Guess I gotta see it in person.

Peter, did you do a PPI on this one?

There are at least two different metallic blacks--L738 and L744.

Mine is a L744 (there are more pictures of my car at the link in my signature):

It's the Bat Phone, not Star Trek. Some say, it's the perfect platform for the Navigation display.

I would have done PPI had the owner ageed with my offer. The owner had the clutch done and is trying to recoup that cost, that in my opinion, falls into the maintainence category; or worse - i.e. why was the clutch replaced anyway???
The car is a beauty, I have the same one. If you buy her, may I recommend lowering the car to ROW. I had PSS9's installed last week,
it looks soooo nice and drives like a different car.

I am definately planning to lower whatever 993 I get - or better yet, find one that's already lowered. Thanks again.

Re: the Star Trek/Bat Phone console, I wonder if that would be a good place to install extra stuff like amps, radar, etc. I guess I have to do a search...

Definitely do a search here, there are quite a few pictures of novel installations in that real estate--namely, navigation units, engine gauges, etc.
