Default Climate control issue?

My climate control does not seem to function correctly with the small "frost" button pressed.

I can hear the compressor starting for about 10s or so then it stops and then this will repeat itself. The pipes going to the compressor never get cold / hot as they do with both frost buttons pressed.

With both frost buttons pressed it works fine, compressor on, cold air coming out of the vents and in every other respect it seems to work as it should?

Any ideas as to where I should look for a fault?

It's probably in your climate control head. Try giving the a/c button a wiggle when you press it in. (It sounds like the switch is intermittent since you can hear the compressor come on at first, could also have a cracked solder joint inside)
This is pretty common on the fan speed also.
