Default Kinesis Supercups in 17" ??

OK, someone stop me from thinking about this. I can in NO way justify this expense, especially when I am supposed to be limiting my expenditures to Ye Olde Trackmeister. But a set of 17x8 and 10 Supercups are "available" and to those who like this style rim, this is torturing me! I actually prefer the 17" over the 18" since I've already got Pss9s that firm up the ride on my daily driver, and the tire profiles are a moderate 40; plus, they look really good on this guy's 993. So how do I convince myself that my regular Cups are fine and just focus on my track car. BTW, anyone here have Supercups in 17s with pics? I need a shrink...

Simple... just send me a link to the wheels and I'll buy them so you won't be able to.

Save for your track car!! Now, where's that link?

Tony,
Pending buyer is having a hard time w/ the financing. His buying option ends this Friday... if he doesn't commit by then I may rethink selling the car, but haven't made a definite decision. 17" wheels have always been my favorite, but have never been able to find really nice ones. These sound great in widths that I would like, too. Wonder if they would fit over the Big Reds though???

Sorry Edward... didn't mean to hijack your thread or steal your wheels. Sorta serious, though... if you decide to pass on the wheels please keep me in mind. Mahalo!!!

Edward,
How do they compare weight-wise? The cups aren't light ... but I don't think the Supercups are either ... so ... if they're about the same weight I'd stay with the cups, it's just cosmetics on the track.

Just do it Edward They look really good and you can mount some 275's back there and 245's front! Can you use your cups on the race car? An extra set of rims will mean...rain tires!

BTW the Blue Meanie on the pic below wears the Supercups, albeit in 18"

Edward, If you can't justify this purchase yourself, please pass the seller's info to me. I'm interested.
OR, to complicate things, I might be a buyer for your cups!
Thanks.

Hmmm,

OK, DrNo. You've added another dynamic. If you, or anyone else here is interested in my 17"Cups in excellent shape, with excellent Kumho MXs mounted, let the offers begin. I'm thinking $900...

If selling mine doesn't work out, I've given Kelly (kkim) dibs as he asked first.

Thanks all, for the helpful push over the edge! Especially you, Danny ...you cars are gorgeous, especially because of the Supercups!!!
This is a sickness, but if I don't have a buyer in line for my rims, I will have to pass as my trackmeister needs immediate attention, and the 993 is in too nice a shape as is to make such a considerable purchase. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to enjoy what I already have...

I had to ask that they made mine with enough offset to clear Big Reds, but mine were 7.5 and 9x17. I thought they were coming out with a new style, so I'd check with them for offset info and clearance.

Thank you... I'll be sure to ask.
