Bruce, My battery finally charged (took about 12 days on the trickle charger), and I used your trick with the trunk latch. The light went out after a short timer. Car is sleeping peacefully again, thanks!

Paul902,
Gald it worked...I use the charger if the car is sitting or will sit for 2 weeks or more.
Don't tell anybody, but I have been out in the car a lot as it is not raining and sunny here. I am sure winter will lock us up with rain for months on end soon enough though. Driving it is the easiest way to keep it charged.
How long do you leave your car without driving in winter storage. The longest is 4 weeks for me. Doesn't seem to affect anything except the battery. I would worry about the 4 month storage. That's enough time for creepy gremlins to sneak in!
Cheers!
