Cleaning Water spots on Glass
I spent the night at a friend's house last night and was forced to park outside (first time ever) and one of my buddy's sprinklers went nuts on my car. I can clay out the spots on the paint but I am having a very difficult time with the water spots on the glass. Ideas? I searched the archives with very little luck.

Vinegar works, also just try Windex or any other glass cleaner. After that come fine glass polishers.

kiddin' aside... hard water deposits are a monster esp. off a black car. i actually had to use a "fine hand polish" to get windows back to their original shape. pita.

I'm amazed; you mean to tell me regular window cleaner won't work? What was in those sprinklers????
The vinegar alternative to me seems like a good idea, followed by a good car wash. Another idea mihgt be WD-40; I've found it great to remove road tar from paint. Would not try the wax, because now you're left with a deposit on the glass which can cause wiper chattering. I've never tried it on glass, but idea is Imperial Hand Glaze - I know it's great on paint. Whatever you use if it isn't regular glass cleaner, follow up with a good car washing.

Griot's Window Cleaner
Works about as well as Windex or vinegar, but
Griot's Glass Polish really works.

FWIW. CLR should work fine. It's the stuff you use to get the hard water spots off of glass shower doors in your bathroom. (C)alcium,(L)ime,(R)ust. I found it at Fred Meyer Dept store. Good luck.

Blue Magic worked for me.
I had water spots on side window when got the car about 8 years ago. Dealer could not remove spots and was ready to replace glass. Told them no, as did not want to them to fuss around. So than tried cleaners had in garage, no luck--- until used Blue Magic.
