Thumbs up FVD Steering Wheel Installed

Well I promised I wouldn't go for the wheel upgrade until I had PSS9's, TRG Sway's and 18'' wheels, I just couldn't resist (slippin' down that slope..) probably b/c this mod is 1 10th the former two combined (which I would only do at the same time to save having to align and corner balance the car twice). I now have a bee in my bonnet for the Rennsport DME reprogram to take advantage of my BMC airfilter, LW clutch and flywheel and Mille Miglia sport mufflers. Wondering what gains if any to expect being in CA where best available is 91 Octane??? Anyone??

This car runs so strong...can't say enough about my friends at Mind Over Motorsports here in San Diego who keep it dialed in just right!

Here's a pic. FVD Daytona 340mm steering wheel. It looks off color but that's just the camera reflecting the light differently off the airbag vs. the perf'd rim. It looks and feels awesome, definitely enhances the driving experience...now about those PSS9's.....

a few questions ---

what is the size - do you know? is the airbag leather? how is the color match to the original steering wheel or interior...same color black? can you still read the gauges pretty easy? did you need any special hub or adaptor to make it fit? thanks!

It is 340mm. The OEM wheel is 365mm so it's a notable difference in size. It's also quite a bit thicker (which I like). It's all black and matches the interior color perfectly. According to FVD it is leather. I had a 340mm Sparco wheel on my 87 911 and loved it. The gauge view is not obstructed at all. It does require an adapter (FVD provided which - positions the wheel just a bit further out than the OEM but only noticeable when reaching for the turn signal). Great mod IMO but if you've never seen or held a 340mm wheel I may suggest the 365mm if the smaller size is a concern.

I just received the wheel in the picture below from a German supplier by the name of D&W (see http://www.duw.de). Cost was 400 euros plus 16% German sales tax. So a guess for US cost would be 40 euros shipping but no sales tax so perhaps $530. The adapter is aluminum and the airbag is not leather. But I don't mind; it was the man machine interface I wanted to change and that where it feels so much better.

Westcoast, I have the 340mm Carbon Fiber Daytona, and also love it. The size is perfect, and it is a joy to drive with, especially on the track.
For those of you wondering about the color, the black is a great match. When I took photos of mine, the photos made it look like a mismatch, but in person it is perfect. You made a great choice.
