Please don't flash your headlights at me. I'll think you are warning me of a police car in the direction that you just came from.
If I didn't wave 1st, wave and I'll wave back.

I wave at all p-cars but very rarely do I get a wave back... Maybe that's because I'm just driving a 944. I have gotten waves from all the 993 drivers that I've waved at first, but never have I gotten the first wave. I would have to agree that most ppl with the older generation P-cars are more enthusiasts than ppl with newer ones. There are some acceptions though...

Guys its sad because coming from a corvette back ground every body waves. I guess some Porsche owners are stuck up. I always wave, then feel like a **** when you get the look, WHOS THAT?

Gave a guy in the exact same color 993 as me a wave yesterday...He looked at me kind of funny and then reluctantly waved back. I thought his response was a bit weird, then a couple hundred yards down the road, I remember I'm driving my wife's A6...

I like the idea of initiating the wave with any other non-SUV p-car ... let's get this going again.

I wouldn't use the flash technique - too hard on my HID bulbs to startup like that?

I found about 5 years ago there were many more waves and flashes - especially with air cooled cars. But it seems the acknowledgement for waves and flashes decrease every year.

Hey Chris...

It's the one on Newport Blvd. in Tustin.

You have a PM on a completely unrelated subject.

With the aircools it about 90%. With the wasserboxers is more like Bush's approval rating at your local Mosque.

Very funny, and very true. Going into this topic, I was thinking to myself that rarely do I get a 996 waver - they're minds are obviously on their portfolios!

Driving a car with a sense of community is one of the few ways in life to save yourself from the numbing mediocrity of the SUV's and Bimmers.

It's like the old Miata 'wink'...

I enjoy seeing a nice Porsche on the road... let's me know that people still do what they're supposed to do with these cars... drive them! I wave at every Porsche driver I see, with excepting to 996 guys. They just don't count.

BTW, I don't own a Porsche yet... but I hope to soon! Soon is referring to the middle-class, two-children, self-employed space time continuum... meaning soon=almost never. Whatever...

I do the wave as well, same reason as above on the headlights... most wave back, Cayenne drivers have to put the cell phone down and that's asking too much.
I drove 911's in the 70's and things were really different when there were so few Porsches on the road. Coming up on another 911 was something rare so most everybody gave you at least a wave. Sometimes you'd pull over just to compare notes about how to keep the plugs from fowling or something important like that. We had no bulletin board for help, in fact the best thing we had was the UpFixn things from PCA. We've come a long way. I think it's even more fun to drive a 911 now as there is so much more info out there and so many more people have experience working on their cars.
Anyway, you guys will always get a wave from me.

I always wave of flash at any other P-car. Most Cayenne owners or regular 996, Boxster or 997 owners (to many of which this is their first P-car) do not understand it. I live in an area where most folks seem to be "stuck up" and rarely wave. There is a doctor that works at the hospital down the street from my house and drives by my house every day. He has a Polar Silver (same color as my 993) RS America and has seen my cars parked in my driveway 100's of times. I have waved at him a couple of times and he just looked at me like I was crazy.....
