Default fixing glove box latch?

hello all,
my glove box latch just started to act up on me. the glove box door doesn't want to close. the small hook doesn't seem to be pushing forward enough to get the latch to lock onto it.
any suggestions on how to fix this?
thanks for your input

There are 2 phillips head screws located near the hook. Loosen these and you will be able to move the hook in a couple of directions. You might just try lengthening the hook a tad with the one screw first. Usually they just get pushed up a little until the latch on the door can no longer can catch on the hook...

Bob,
Thanks very much for the info! I just finished adjusting it and it works like new! Well worth its weight in gold!

Glad it worked. Make sure you get that screw TIGHT, otherwise it will losen up again.

Bob,
I'll thank you in advance - I seem to have the opposite problem - door isn't closing tight. Will see if I can tighten the hook up a little. Very confident your suggestion will work.

It is a piece of cake Brian to fix. This is generally the culprit. The thing is a piece of junk. In my car on the track with the g forces, the stupid hook would pop out and the glove box would fly open at very in opertune times. I even had to do some modification to the hook and the tightening mechanism to keep it shut. Duct tape over the glove box just didn't look right...

Good luck.

Worked fine. Thanks. I hope your insurance and registration cards didn't go flying out the window on the track!!
