No affiliation, but if anyone wants a set, I just saw one FS at the Pelican board classifieds. Check it out. I'd buy them myself if I didn't have my own car "i$$ues" to deal with. Good luck!

Martin,
Unfortunately, Edward had an off at T9 at Willow in his SC. Thankfully, though, Edward is fine but his car has some damage.

Yup,
Sorry, Martin, er, ObieWan. I've let you down. As Rich mentioned, I went off at 9 ...but was doing really well up to that point
I was working on my T8 technique and getting some really good entry into 9 ...which of course put the T9 apex in front of me a blink sooner than I, ahem, "expected." Went wide and that was all she wrote. Fortunately, ye olde Trackmeister is just down, but not out. And if I may, I'd like to also underscore how much I have come to respect my safety gear!! Live and learn, eh? (with the emphasis on the former
).

Very pleased to hear that you received no personal injury in the Turn 9 off. The car is sheet metal and a bunch of nuts and bolts...it can be repaired. And in the event it can't, there are always lots of parts that can be salvaged for your next car. Your safety gear worked well...that is fantastic. I hope it wasn't the roll bar that got exercised. Just curious, what organization were you running with when this occured?
For those that don't know Willow Springs International Raceway (Claimed to be, The Fastest Road in the West), there are a mere 9 turns. Turn 8 into 9 is a very fast (120 mph in a 993 car) gradual sweeper that tansitions to a decreasing radius right turn with no way to see the apex until you are almost on top of it. I have have several pros tell me it is one of the most difficult turns on ANY race track you can find in North America. When you do it right...if you're not thrilled (scared?), than you have ice water in your veins. Exit speed through 9 is about 90 mph...you need a pair to do it right.
Early into my time trial career, in my 80SC...I turned in too soon coming off of 8...resulting in an early apex into 9, and went off the outside of 9...panicked, got off the gas and my car sent up an incredible smokescreen of dust while we in the process of going across the track backwards....damn that was scary. I was lucky that I wasn't T Boned going across the track backwards....
Get her fixed Ed, and come on out again soon. Hey, bring the 993 out to Streets of Willow this weekend with POC? What a great idea...you have to get back up on the horse that threw you!
Best regards,

There is a set on US E-bay as well though the welds don't look like the normal welds as they are on the main body and not "hidden" as part of the original weld...

Edward,
I've helicoptered my old SC in turn 9 once before so don't think you're the Lone Ranger.
My technique is stay tight through 8 and at the entrance to 9 brake in a straight line aiming at the east end of the pits which keeps me from turning in too early, then picking up the throttle as I turn for the apex and the dip.
This was shown to me by Sergio Nardi while following Martin Snow who was in his old #99 car(Championship Winning GT-2 Car), it takes some practice but I never rotated in turn 9 again.
Now as for the other 8 turns......no comment............LOL
