White or Wait?
Okay, opinions please,
Its not on my short list for colors but its close by and in the price range, upgraded wheels otherwise stock car.
Order of color choices: Silver(either one), Arena Red, Speed Yellow, White, Blue, Black.
Whats the vote white or wait?

I happen to think white is really nice, but hey, its a highly personal choice... and for me Arena Red was the MUST HAVE. Truth is, I've never met a 993 that I didn't like... but I think you should WAIT for the color that rings YOUR bell. Remember, you get to look at it everyday...

Hank,
That is beautiful. If the car checks out in person, and passes a pre-purchase inspection (PPI) with flying colors, then I'd certainly consider it. I'd say there's a bit of wiggle room in that price though. Not much, but some.
Good luck!

I never would have chosen white ... but, it was the one in every other way so I took a chance and had it shipped up from California.
Now that I have a (Grand Prix) white car I just love it. Plus, compared to all the dark colours on your list what a breeze to keep clean looking.
One additional comment ... mine is a C4S, but it definitely does not look as phat-butted as the darker cars ... I am glad to have a wide-body car in this light colour.

Get the color you want. It is worth the wait. Mine was not the color combo I wanted and I always wish I would have waited for the perfect combo. Don't get me wrong, I love my car and at the same time want the perfect car!
Good Luck, whatever you do. After all it is still a Porsche, and that is all that really matters!

The first 993 I looked at was a white tip. The tip was unacceptable and white was far from my first choice. I have to say that I've seen so many 964, 993 and 996 cup cars in white, I've changed my mind and would gladly buy a white car. Here in Baltimore, there's a 993, a C2S, I think, in white with a 3.8 RS tail, roll bar and cool looking wheels that looks very purposeful. It looks much like my car except it doesn't have all of the stickers. (I installed a 3.8 wing a few weeks ago and haven't updated my avatar.)
Color choice is, obviously, a very personal choice. You need to feel right with the car. At the time, my top choice was polar silver, then guards red, then speed yellow. White? Blech. But my perception has changed since then.
Good luck and have fun in your search.

My vote is to wait for the color combo you want.... it took me 8 months to find mind but well worth the wait and the hunting experience was great. I once bought a convertible that I settled for the color combo because it was that year's special edition model.... I sold it the next year. Just my .02.

Fyi, I believe there are two whites available for 993s - Grand Prix White & Glacier White. This one looks like GP White. Personally, I really like the look of Glacier White. It looks terrific on the S & Turbo models (haven't seen it on a NB 993). Good luck.

Hey Chuck!
Didn't you have a blue top for your cab? Or, perhaps I was being color blind again! I hope you are doing well and am glad that you survived the fires, despite the early wake up call by the Sheriffs!!!

Hank,
Personally I think white looks really good on 993's regardless of body style.
Between Glacier & GrandPrix, I would give GP my vote over Glacier...but that's just me. I only wish '97 Turbo's come in GP White...
If you are considering a white NB, mine is still available.
It's a '95, if you don't mind it's OBD I.
It's got most (if not all) mods recommended here on Rennlist.
I've lowered my asking price.

I do like white 911's. Kind of a classic color for them. But wait for the color you want. If you have second thoughts about a color, they could stay with you the whole time of ownership. I did that with my last M3. Could not get over the color. I sold it and hunted for the right 993 in the right color. Never looked back.
