Hi All,
Now that I have finally purchased my new toy (993 Midnight Blue Savannah interior-lovely ) I wish to upgrade the stereo from the fitted Blaupunkt unit to an Alpine is this straight forward? Do I need to disconnect any amplifiers for the speakers like in my 944 also will I need an ISO plug or will one be already fitted to the car (L Reg 1994)? The reason I ask is that I wish to save the £50.00 fitting fee by doing it myself so any advice would be great.
Regards
Pete

I upgraded mine to an Alpine unit with the minimum of fuss because the 993 has standard plugs that go straight into the sockets on most UK stereos. You'll have to connect the earth and run a fused cable to the battery, but other than that it's plun 'n' play.
Where in the UK are you?

I believe this has to do with the MY of your 993. I don't have the number in my head, but I believe that MY96 and forward uses standard ISO plugs.
If you're thinking of getting better sound in the car, also have in mind to replace the rear speakers. This is an easy DIY.
