Default lowered front license plate

Inventiva concepts offers a license plate bracket that sits in front of grille, below upper bumper. Looks sleek, but tends to cover a portion of air intake vent. Do you think it adversely impacts engine air intake (yes I know engine is in rear).

I had the Inventiva front plate mount on my NB OEM bumper and now on my turbo bumper....no problems with cooling at all.

How about someone post a picture of this bracket gizmo. Not that I EVER want to put on the front plate, but you know... just in case.

I made my own bracket but it puts the plate in the same place as the Inventiva unit. It does block the openings to the oil cooler and A/C condensor, but not substantially IMO. Note that the plate sits ahead of the 'dead' area of the intake, where the large splitter directs air to the right and left sides.

Well, IF I had to use a front plate, I'd use that bracket... it looks better than smack dab on the front of the bumper. Thanks for posting the picture.

I refuse to put a plate on the front of my car. I've been pulled over a few times but nothing serious.

I also notice all the Corvette owner around here do the same thing.

I'm not a fan of the front plate no matter how it's mounted, but prefer to keep my non-compliance out of plain sight :-) It's one less reason to get attention.

Chuck,
In your second photo, what happened to the right side front grille?

Is it a legal requirement to have a fron plate in the US? We have to have one in the UK but whenever I've come over to the US I've seen loads of cars without a plate on the front.

Its def illegal in many states not to have one....when I moved from UK to Atlanta I just put the front plate on coz in the UK you have to have one....but when I came up to Maryland two years ago (in a 968 at the time) I was dinged for not putting front plate on......I have the lowered front plate on my 993 and it does not look great but def a whole lot better than the ones plastered across the mid bumper area....I plugged the holes with bumperplugs which by the way look great.

Thanks for the photo, it looks 1000 better than the stock location. I'll keep it in mind in case I get pulled by a rookie.

We need no stinkin' plates in Pennsylvania...

Btw, that wabbit wamage looks relatively mild compared to a waccoon wamage I had years ago. The front bumper of my 300ZX (factory OEM - not rigid aftermarket fiberglass piece) disintegrated. I think there was still some fur stuck to the bumper when the insurance guy came to take a picture!
