Default third brake light install ?s

I'm laying out the pieces for the third brake light, following the info from P-Car.com, but still have a few Qs

1) the gasket is clipped to the vertical rib, like this correct?

2)the vertical rib has a series of 8 casting rounds on the rear face and 6 shoulders on the forward face, do any of these mark the position of the 13 ss clips that will hold the gasket in place?
The ss clip is to the right of the round and shoulder in this pic

it almost seems as if the round needs to be ground off to position the clip at that spot? or if the clip is positioned at the sholder, the gasket will be proud of the rib?

3)did anyone paint the base body color?

4)there are 2 foam cyliders pictured here

do they go around the electrical connectors?

TIA

Bill,
The gasket fits on the little rib just forward of the vertical rib in your first picture.

Like this:

The clips are used to attach the cover piece. The ones on the front rib face forward, the ones on the back face to the rear.

Thanks, I had finally figured that out, does it get glued down?

The ones on the front rib face forward, the ones on the back face to the rear.
Clips go like this?

Do they go where the shoulders are to keep them proud of the riib? or do they need to be fully seated?

In this last pic you can see how the clips aren't fully seated due to the shoulders.

The gasket stays in without glueing. The clips in your photo are oriented correctly. They should be offset somewhat from the shoulders as they need to be fully seated (the ones on the forward rib help to hold the gasket in place. The clips at the ends are spaced closer together than the ones in the middle (at least they were when I took my third brake light apart to replace some burned out bulbs).
